Erik Bonkovsky is the founding pastor of City Church in Richmond. He lives in the city’s Fan neighborhood with his wife, Sarah, and their school-aged children: Reed, Leland, and Lorayn.
Susan Daniel is a native of Martinsville, VA, and came to the Richmond area to attend the University of Richmond. After graduation, she worked as a center director for Kinder Care Learning Centers and later enjoyed a 25 year career with Good Foods Grocery, a locally owned natural foods store. Susan’s responsibilities at Good Foods Grocery include human resources problem solving, business planning and purchasing. She brings experience in serving both team members and customers. Susan enjoys needle work, graphic design (much more of a hobby than a talent!) and reading. She is a member of West End Presbyterian Church, where she serves on the women’s ministry team.
Erin Holler joined the Leadership Council in 2015, bringing 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector to her role on the Development Team. She and her husband, Mike, settled in Richmond in 2002 and now live in Hanover County where Erin is the Director of Women's Ministry at Grace Community Presbyterian Church. They have two children who share their love of dogs, food, and camping.
Mark Leimberger is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional and Register Life Planner® with Alpha Advisors, a wealth management firm in Richmond, VA. He's a graduate of the University of Virginia and began a career in the financial services industry in 1996. Beyond his work with clients, Mark loves being a husband to wife, Alyssa, and father to his two children, Ben and Ellie. He has a passion for men’s ministry and enjoys golf and fishing.
Laura Shibut is originally from Pennsylvania but has been proud Richmonder since graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University. She worked in ministry for 24 years in the Richmond area and currently serves as Program Manager for Lighthouse Labs, Richmond’s business accelerator. When Laura is not at work you'll find her training at CrossFit or exploring RVA with her husband, Doug. Laura completed Barnabas Training in 2015 and continues to provide behind the scenes support to The Barnabas Center - Richmond staff and office.
Melissa Lincoln joined the Barnabas Council is 2018. She spent virtually her entire career managing the accounting for various small businesses — a restaurant corporation, a contract furniture dealer and a florist. Though now retired, she still enjoys compiling numbers into useful information that can help organizations prosper. Melissa is a native Tennessean who came to Richmond in 1996 after marrying her husband Abe. They enjoy gardening and cooking together, and going camping with their cat, Lovey. Melissa and Abe are members of Third Church.
Joy Alexander became acquainted with The Barnabas Center in 2014 when she attended Barnabas Basic. She and her family have experienced first-hand the transformative work being done by The Barnabas Center as they have participated in seminars, classes, and counseling. Joy and her husband, Tim, have been married for almost 35 years and are energized by entrepreneurial endeavors. Originally from Hampton Roads, they moved to the area to launch a business where they could work together as a family and instill in their children a strong work ethic. Their latest endeavor, which has kept them busy more than a decade, is an organic dairy and grassfed meat farm. When Joy isn't helping with the farm, she's busy fixing up and flipping real estate, or dreaming about her next chance to relax at the beach with Tim, surrounded by their children and grandchildren.
Rick Schofield is originally from northern Virginia and has been a Richmond resident for over thirty years. He attended Hampden-Sydney College and VCU graduate school. In 2011, he started a foundation called Flashpoint Fund which provides mini grants for training and consulting to local area nonprofits and ministries. He also manages a real estate business that includes rental properties and investments. Rick has been active in organizations such as the Richmond Christian Leadership Institute, Youth Life Foundation of Richmond, Comfort Zone Camp, and is member of Hope Church- Midtown. He is married to his wife, Carly, and has a 2 ½ year-old daughter named Sarah.
