Peer Supervision is a group available to those who are currently in a role of intentionally caring for others. This role may be in a ministry or a job, for example, and may be paid or volunteer. Less formally, participants could be a regular and intentional care giver to friends.
Peer Supervision provides participants with an opportunity to both receive care personally and to develop their skills in offering care in specific situations or “cases”, in light of Barnabas’s Model of Transformation and Model of People.
Groups will be offered for 6 sessions on Mondays beginning January 7, 2019 and will meet every other week from 6:30p - 8:30p at the Barnabas Center office in Richmond. A Barnabas Staff Member will facilitate this group.
Participants in Peer Supervision must:
Have completed Barnabas Training through Level 2;
Currently be in a formal role (paid or volunteer) of caring for others, OR
Though not in a formal role, have regular, non-family, caregiving opportunities with which they are interested in receiving help;
Have a willingness to participate in practice conversations within the group time, in hopes of learning how to more deeply pursue and care for others.
Requires a minimum of 4 people.
Cost for Peer Supervision is $400
$200 deposit is required at registration (this amount is applied toward total cost of group)
Sign up early! $50 discount if you pay your $200 deposit on or before December 20th. Scholarships are available.
